Call 800-314-7003! What is a surety bond? A surety bond is like a short term loan made to you to cover another party. An example would be if you own a store that sells lottery tickets. When you agree to sell lottery tickets you also agree to deposit the receipts according to schedule. You buy a surety bond in this case to cover the government in case you cannot make the deposit. You could put up your own deposit, but the surety is willing to make sure your agreement with the government is met by loaning you the money to cover a valid claim. Pro Surety Bond has over 25 years of combined industry experience. Call even if you are afraid you will be turned down for a surety bond because you have bad credit. Call 800-314-7003!

Ironton is a city in and the county seat to Lawrence County and it is the 163rd most populous city in the State of Ohio. The city name is simply a contraction of “iron” and “town.” As you might have guessed, the iron industry has played a large part in the city’s history and economy. Ironton has the curious distinctions of being the southernmost city in Ohio, and for having had one of the first professional football teams. Today Ironton is part of the Huntington-Ashland Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Ironton was founded by one John Campbell, a prominent pig iron manufacturer. When he discovered the large amount of iron ore in the area, he decided to move his business and founded Ironton on the Ohio River for good transportation. The output of iron from Ironton was so great that England, France and Russia all purchased iron from foundries in Ironton for their warships. Iron from Ironton was used in the Monitor, the first ironical ship made by the United States Union, and famous for the sea battle with the Merrimack. What are some of the differences between insurance and surety bond? There are two really big distinctions that really bring the differences between surety bonds and insurance into relief, and both deal with the three party character of the surety bond. The first is that the real customer of the surety bond is the obligee, which is the party that is asking for the coverage offered by the bond. Even though the principal, the party asked to offer the surety bond for coverage, is the party that paid for the bond, the obligeè is the one who keeps the surety bond business alive because few bonds are elective. One interesting thing to consider about surety bonds is that even if a bond applicant lies on his application, since the surety has a written and legally binding agreement with the obligee, the surety still has to pay the claim. With insurance the insurance company has no legal commitment to the claimant, and misrepresentations would in many cases let the insurance company get out of having to pay a claim.
The other distinction between insurance and surety bonds is who is responsible for the claim. With insurance, the insurance agrees to take responsibility for unexpected things that happen in exchange for your premium. With surety bond, the surety’s agreement with the obligee is only to square matters away with him, and that’s all the obligee cares about. The surety’s relationship with the principal is a different matter, because that agreement is conditioned by an indemnity agreement, which states that the surety will not be responsible for the claim. Put another way, the claim payment the surety made to the obligee must be paid back to the surety by the principal. Give us a call at 800-314-7003
