Call 800-314-7003! What is a surety bond? A surety bond allows for reparations in cases where one party wants a guarantee for an obligation. If your business sells motor fuel, you must collect and deposit the taxes for that product. To inspire you to continue your timely deposits, the government requires a surety bond, which also acts as a security deposit, i.e., a fund that can be drawn upon to pay claims. The surety is in charge of this “deposit” which is simply based on the financial strength of the surety. The surety is in essence is standing in for you, paying claims as if it were you, and ultimately billing you for this service. Pro Surety Bond has over 25 years of combined industry experience. Call even if you think getting a surety bond will be too much of a nuisance with your poor credit record. Call 800-314-7003!

Novi is a city in Oakland County and it is the 28th most populous community in the State of Michigan. A local legend states that the city was named after the nearby 6th gate on the Grand River toll road (No. VI, get it?). However, the toll road in question was built about 20 years after the city was already named. Apparently, the name comes from a suggestion by a resident named Dr. J.C. Emery, whose wife felt Novi was a lot shorter then Farmington Township, out of which Novi was carved. Novi is currently one of the fastest growing cities in Michigan.
The economy of Novi rests largely on its retail outlets, particularly those concentrated around the Novi Road and Interstate 96 interchange, though other centers exist closer to the center of the city. Novi has also become a mecca of sorts for car dealerships, which can be found mostly along Haggerty Road and Grand River Ave. The city is also a home to a sizeable amount of industrial and office parks which houses industries from health care, the transportation and logistics, manufacturing and automotive parts suppliers. Will a bankruptcy affect my ability to get a surety bond? This will matter mostly on what type of bond you need, and what type of bankruptcy you are in. There are two basic categorizations for surety bond: commercial and contract. Most commercial bonds are license bonds, and frankly a bankruptcy probably won’t pose much of an obstacle to bond-ability, but contract bonds are a different story. Contract bonds are usually the biggest ticket bonds the surety issues, and a claim is a problem for everyone, even though the surety is supposed to be repaid for the claim. Because so much is at stake with contract bonds, a bankruptcy will pose a much greater hindrance to bond-ability than a commercial bond.
It should be stated here however, that there is one type of commercial bond for which a bankruptcy might pose a problem: fidelity bond. Fidelity bonds cover a business against theft on the part of an employee from another business. It could be a temp agency or a janitorial business or any host of businesses. Many employers who are hiring for positions that require this type of bond do credit checks, and if they find a bankruptcy, it can pose a problem. Alas there is some statistical evidence that those who are bankrupt resort to crime. But not all is lost! There is a thriving market for high risk fidelity bond. Give us a call at 800-314-7003
