Call 800-314-7003! What do I need a surety bond for? When you are asked to buy a surety bond, it means that someone needs a guarantee from you in one way or another. Most people who come to this site need a license and permit bond, which is to guarantee to the government that you will adhere to the regulations of your industry, or a claim against the bond can be made. The government can’t realistically rely on your professional reputation to back up your guarantee, nor can they rely on your personal financial strength. They make you go to a surety company because sureties are financial institutions with the adequate financial reputations to provide guarantees as a service. You buy the bond, and the surety promises the government that it will make sure that the business owner gets a loan to cover any valid claims. Pro Surety Bond has over 25 years of combined industry experience, and you can’t get enough of that. Call us even if you are afraid your past credit history will jeopardize your ability to get bonded. We have programs for a host of credit needs. Call 800-314-7003!
If you are bidding on public projects for the City of Robinson you may be required to post a Bid Bond. The Bid Bond guarantees you will be able to provide the Performance Bonds required in the event you are the low bidder. In essence the Bid Bond pre-qualifies you for the work you are bidding on. Not all jobs require bonding but if they do we can assist you with Bid Bonds, and subsequent Performance and Payment Bonds as required by the state. Robinson is a city in McLennan County and it is the 217th most populous city in the state of Texas. The city was named after brothers John and Levi Robinson, who were the ones who surveyed 170 acres and platted them into 42 four acres lots for homesteaders. By the late 1800s the city had three cotton gins, two churches, three general stores and a school. It was finally incorporated in 1955 by which time it comprised 12 square miles. Today Robinson is a largely residential city and serves as a suburb of Waco.
How are license and permit bonds used? License and permit bonds are a requirement almost everywhere someone needs a business license, and they serve a number of functions. 1. They guarantee the health and safety of the public, for instance the handling of foods; 2. They cover companies who have special needs for coverage related to something job related, like a painter who needs to erect scaffolding; 3. The protect consumers, particularly in those fields in which fraud or dishonest business practices are relatively common, like the used auto business; 4. They protect the money and privacy of a business’s customers, as in the case of a bill collector; 5. They guarantee the prompt remission of funds collected for sales tax. Who can I verify my bond? Pro Surety Bond always encourages its customers to be knowledgeable about their surety bonds, and one thing you can do is verify the authenticity of your bond. It is a two-step process: the first is to check with your state insurance commissioner to determine if your surety is authorized to operate in the jurisdiction of your project. With a few exceptions, sureties must possess a certification of authority from the insurance commissioner in each state they operate in. Then contact the US Department of Treasury Listing of Approved Sureties, Department Circular 570. This is like the state certification but applies for the federal government.
The second step you should take is to contact the surety after you have been issued the bond, to verify that it is authorized and active. The surety will be listed on Circular 570 and will include a contact phone number. You may also check out the SFAA Bond Obligee Guide, which has form for verifying your bond. They will need specific information about the bond, including the bond number, the name of the principal, a description of the project and the name of the attorney in fact signing the bond.
