Call 800-314-7003! What is a surety bond? Surety bonds are financially backed responsibility. If you are a liquid petroleum gas dealer, you have a host of health and safety regulations that must be obeyed, or risk being fined. To keep you on the straight and narrow, the government demands a surety bond that can be forfeited, either partially or fully, in the event of a claim. The surety can promise the government that it will take care of the claim, so you don’t have to put up your own money as a security, and that means no red marks against your credit. Pro Surety Bond has over 25 years of combined industry experience. Call even if you think there will be a "catch" if you apply for a surety bond. Call 800-314-7003!
If you are bidding on public projects for the City of Waterford you may be required to post a Bid Bond. The Bid Bond guarantees you will be able to provide the Performance Bonds required in the event you are the low bidder. In essence the Bid Bond pre-qualifies you for the work you are bidding on. Not all jobs require bonding but if they do we can assist you with Bid Bonds, and subsequent Performance and Payment Bonds as required by the state. Waterford Township is a charter township in Oakland county and it is the 20th most populous in the State of Michigan. Waterford gets its name from the vast number of lakes that cover the township. Waterford Village started out as a purchase by two men, Archibald Phillips and Alpheus Williams, and it consisted of about 160 acres. Williams built the first house on the site, on the north bank of the Clinton River, while Phillips built his at what is today the center of town.
The Waterford Township Economic Development Corporation (EDC) consists of an 11 member Board which is appointed by the Township Supervisor. The EDC also requires the approval of the Township Board. The corporation members’ term is for six years. The corporation was created to engender a more solid economy for the city, in the name of preventing and ameliorating unemployment. One of the steps the corporation has taken is the encourage local municipalities to finance industrial and non-profit projects with bonds or revenue notes created by the EDC. Are there any alternatives to surety bonds? There are alternatives to surety bonds, but they all have the same types of problems. Surety bonds can be had for pennies per dollar of coverage, and if your company’s financial situation is solid, you can get the coverage without collateral. Other ways require full collateralization, whether it be cash or property. You are in essence putting up your assets for coverage.
With alternatives to surety bonds, there is always the threat of fraudulent claims. Surety companies are required by the terms of their contract to investigate all claims, but you won’t get that with letters of credit. Letters of credit only require that the claimant submit certain standard paperwork, and the bank has to pay. This is true regardless of whether you agree with the claim or not. If you don’t agree with it, you will have to take the claimant to court. Give us a call at 800-314-7003
