Call 800-314-7003! What is a surety bond? Surety bonds financially enforce agreements based on the fulfillment of a condition. In the case of a construction project, a subcontractor will have to purchase a surety bond to cover the project owner or main contractor on a project if the subcontractor cannot finish the job he has won the bid on. Guaranteeing your own project will lock down a large portion of your working capital, so you need another answer. Surety bonds are great for arrangements like this because once the underwriter determines that you are financially sound enough to be bonded, they will take over the obligation of making sure the project gets completed if a claim is made. But it’s not usually necessary because the surety’s check of a company’s financials is pretty accurate. However, if a claim does need to be paid, the surety will loan you the money for it, but you still have to pay the surety back. Pro Surety Bond has over 25 years of combined industry experience. Call even if you’re debating whether to apply for a surety because you don’t think you can get one at an affordable rate with bad credit. Call 800-314-7003!
If you are bidding on public projects for the City of Winchester you may be required to post a Bid Bond. The Bid Bond guarantees you will be able to provide the Performance Bonds required in the event you are the low bidder. In essence the Bid Bond pre-qualifies you for the work you are bidding on. Winchester is an independent city in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the county seat of Frederick County, and the 38th most populous urban area. The first Europeans to gain access to the site that would become Winchester were French Jesuits, as early as 1606, the it was not truly settled until about 1725, when a group of Quakers hiked up the Great Valley along the Indian Path, aka the Great Wagon Road. The site was even surveyed in 1748 by no less than George Washington when he was merely 16 years of age. Winchester is in the Winchester, Virginia-West Virginia Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Winchester in partnership with the State of Virginia offers a number of financial incentive programs to highlight the city’s business friendly attitude. One of these is the Virginia Enterprise Zone, which is a partnership with the state and local government and is geared to create permanent jobs that will increase the tax base and expand the economic horizons for the residents. Attached to the VEZ are two grant-based incentives: the Job Creation Grant and the Real Property Investment Grant. To qualify for these grants you have to demonstrate how the grants will create employment and generally fit into the city’s financial plan. Call the Winchester Surety Bond Pros Today at 800-314-7003!
What exactly does bonded licensed and Insured mean? You’ve not doubt seen this trio of terms when a service business advertises itself, but you never knew exactly what it meant. Bonded means, of course, that the company has a bond in place to ensure that it follows its industry regulations. The licensed part is kind of superfluous, because it’s probably illegal for them to be working a business without a license. The term licensed is superfluous because if you are licensed you are also already bonded, as you can’t get a business license in most cases without a bond. Insured is the most common term, and it means that their employees are insured if they are hurt.
Are there any advantages to having a surety bond over say a simple security deposit? Sometimes it happens that a bond applicant’s financial records are so bad that they need to collateralize the entire coverage limit of the bond. If the company is willing to collateralize the entire thing, wouldn’t getting a surety bond be pointless? No, because if you were to take out a letter of credit, which will need to be collateralized, you would have no one to investigate the claim. Banks don’t do that, but sureties do.
