Who Knows More About Woodburn Surety Bonds
Call 800-314-7003! What is a surety bond? A surety bond is a type of insurance, but not like you are accustomed to thinking about it. For the sake of argument, it is helpful to think of surety bonds as a type of short term credit. Let’s say the department of taxation wants a surety bond from you to guarantee that you will make your sales tax deposits on time. If you do not, it will make a claim against the bond. The surety will then investigate the matter, and if it agrees that the claim is valid, it will “loan” you the money by paying the claim. Of course the surety must then approach you for reimbursement. Pro Surety Bond has over 25 years of combined industry experience, finding among the most attractive premiums it can find in its network of underwriters. Feel free to call us even if your credit is not great. Call 800-314-7003!

Woodburn, population 25000, is a city in Marion County and the State of Oregon. The city was originally called Halsey, but someone figured out that there was already a town by that name, so the name was changed to Woodburn after a slash and burn mishap that happened nearby. Like the rest of Oregon, Woodburn is the product of the Donation Land Claim Act of 1850, which promoted settlers to move to the region, several of whom established claims in the area. A legal dispute arose, however, and one of the parties borrowed money from a wealthy businessman with the land as collateral. This businessman, William Reed, brought the railroad into the area and ran it through the land he hoped acquire from the settler, just as another railroad was plowed through as well. Today Woodburn is a suburb of Salem, but it remains an agricultural center, with fruits, grapes, vegetables, along with orchards and nursery stock.
Woodburn city officials are committed to the amenities that guarantee the quality of life that attract outside investors, including making public safety a propriety, establishing community outreach, making the city fiscally sustainable, all while encouraging economic development. These days Woodburn is a haven from Californians escaping the high real estate costs, and anyone who loves living in a beautiful place. The city is a little too far from Portland to be considered a suburb, but a few robust souls make the trek. It’s the sacrifice you’ll make to live in Woodburn. Why are surety bonds a better idea for me, as opposed to other types of coverage like letters of credit? This is the answer: if your business is in good shape financially, you are a good risk for a surety company, but not for banks who offer letters of credit. Banks want everything secured, because banks are not really in the business of providing surety coverage, and they don’t really “think” in those terms. Surety companies, on the other hand, cater specifically to companies that have little likelihood of default on a guarantee, and so can offer coverage at a very small price.

How can I minimize claims made against my bond? Making sure you don’t incur a claim is important for the reputation of your business, but claims are a fact of life and it’s better to roll with the punches. If you do have a dispute, one of the most important things you can do is make sure you have documentation for everything you do. Being thoroughly familiar with your contract will provide a lot of safety, but no contract is airtight, and that’s why you need to document every step of the dispute, should there be one. Things you should record are things you did to resolve the dispute. Give us a call at 800-314-7003
